Home Inspections
- The inspection is defined as the process of an inspector collecting information through visual observation during a walk-through survey of the property. Furthermore, conducting research about the property and then generating a meaningful report about the condition of the property based on the observations made.
Termite Inspections
A termite inspection is a visual inspection of the readily accessible areas of a home for evidence of wood-destroying insects (WDI) and wood-destroying organisms (WDO). The inspector will visually inspect the entire interior of a home (including accessing and entering any sub-space such as basements and crawlspaces) and exterior of the property. In areas where Drywood termites are prevalent, and in houses where there are no sub-areas, the attic may also be accessed and inspected. After the inspection has been performed, the findings are reported on the applicable/appropriate form.

Construction Phase Inspection
There are many types of home inspections available for your house or building during its construction. However, there could be extenuating circumstances. A three part (or phase) home inspection should be satisfactory for most houses. The idea of inspecting each phase of construction is to catch problems or errors in a timely manner before the next phase of construction begins. This allows appropriate corrections to be made. The first inspection would be before the foundation concrete is poured. The second is after framing is completed, plumbing has been "roughed" in, and electric wiring has been run, but before the walls have been covered. The third is the final, where everything should be in the right place and work correctly.
Radon Testing
Radon is widely believed to be the second leading cause of lung cancer. The EPA and the Surgeon General recommend testing for radon in all homes below the third floor.
Radon has been found in homes all over the United States. Any home can have a radon problem. On average, one out of every fifteen U.S. homes has a problem. The only way to know whether or not your home has a radon problem is to test for it.
You can't see radon, you can't smell it or taste it, but it may be a problem in your home. Radon is estimated to cause many thousands of deaths each year. That's because when you breathe air containing radon, you can get lung cancer. Colonial Independence Home Inspections, Inc. will test your home for radon and if the reading is elevated we will offer a safe and recommended way of mitigation.
Indoor Air Quality
All of us face a variety of risks to our health as we go about our day-to-day lives. Driving in cars, flying in airplanes, engaging in recreational activities, and being exposed to environmental pollutants all pose varying degrees of risk. Some risks are simply unavoidable. Some we choose to accept because to do otherwise, we would restrict our ability to lead our lives the way we want. And some are risks we might decide to avoid if we had the opportunity to make informed choices. Indoor air pollution is one risk that you can do something about.
Mold Testing
Colonial Independence Home Inspections, Inc. provides a testing service that samples the air and environment in your home or business. We test for molds in the air that you breathe, while most mold tests only test for visible or surface molds. Air-borne molds can cause a variety of health related disorders, and can make a home or place of business unhealthy.Colonial Independence Home Inspections, Inc. ONLY PROVIDES TESTING. WE DO NOT PROVIDE REMEDIATION. You can be assured that we will provide you with the most accurate results possible.
